Tomo One of three done this year as demos at Anime Weekend Atlanta, it's Tomo from the opening sequence of Azumanga Daioh, a show I dig because it gets high school right--in that the drama of school usually comes not from huge life altering events but rather from trying to get from one end of the day to the other without looking like a complete tool. I like how you can't quite tell if Tomo's aware of exactly how stupid she is. |

Necoconeco The other two done as AWA demonstrations, forming another Azumanga Daioh piece depicting the show's cat and kitten mascot. Done as an experiment/warmup in segmented pumpkins, and designed to be lit by a single candle, as the kitten part is cut from the bottom. |

New England Revolution It's not just cartoons I'm nerdy about; it's also soccer. This is the logo of our local MLS side, the Revolution, of which I'm a big fan. Made it for the last home game of the season, a 1-0 playoff win against Columbus, which was decidedly overshadowed by a certain other local team, but it's the thought that counts, right? Because accuracy of replicating the logo was key, I cheated on this one and used a printout of the official logo, going against my usual "freehand or nothing" stance. |

Hellmonkey Who is the biggest danger bringer? Hellmonkey, one of the Kaiju Big Battel stable. This year I decided to do an all-kaiju theme, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Godzilla. |

Gamera Gamera is really neat! We love eating turtle meat! We all love you Gamera! |

Mothra This one, I think, is my favorite of this year's round. Colored parts within the wings are done using the Dremel. |

Godzilla King of all kaiju. This pumpkin was so large I could not lift it out of my trunk to bring it inside. This one's a good example of how instead of the usual light/shadow contrast, the design is based on muscule structure. This was also too large to get the whole thing in the photo frame. |

King Ghidorah This one was wicked hard to engineer. Six pieces--two wings, one center holding three necks, and three heads perched on top. I originally was going to have the wings on the main body piece, but there wasn't enough space to do them in a decent enough proportion. |
